Summary

Join professional artist, Bryony Knight for an introductory day to oil painting surrounded by the beautiful surroundings of Little Massingham Manor. The course will introduce painters to how oil paints work and interact with different mediums. We will look at the value scale and how it is used to create form and depth. The day will include a grisaille painting step by step and a demonstration on how to glaze this using traditional oil painting techniques. A delicious 2 course lunch included!

Timetable

· 9.30-9.45am - Arrival for tea/coffee before we start

· 10am - Welcome & introduction to the studio space

· 10.30am - Introduction to oil painting & lecture on how to paint in oils, with emphasis on value and form.

· 11am - Demonstration

· 11.30am - Refreshments break

· 12.00pm - Start of step by step painting .

· 1-2pm - 2 course lunch served in the Manor breakfast room

· 2pm - Step by step painting

· 4pm - Review and Q&A session

· 4.30pm - Finish
