A wonderful day of painting outdoors in the beautiful privacy of the grounds of Little Massingham Manor, for watercolour or acrylic painters.

Details

You will learn to use your paints outdoors taking into account the weather conditions, the light and the varieties of subject. We will cover decision making using a sketchbook, isolating a subject and composition. If you have ever wished to take your paints on holiday but lacked the confidence then this workshop is for you where the only people to look over your shoulder are the other students on the course.

£199pp including a sumptuous picnic in the grounds. All materials, notes and equipment provided.

For any painting queries Izy will be happy to answer your questions.

There will be a maximum of 10 students attending the day. The teaching is designed for beginners but improvers are welcome. Your materials for the day are included.

Fitness – there is a small amount of walking involved which may involve some uneven ground. We recommend that you bring clothing suitable to the day especially a windproof jacket. We may have to paint in the studio in the event of bad weather.

Timetable

0915 Arrive at the Manor where you will be greeted by Izy Fitzgerald Carter.
0930 - 1000 Refreshments and an introduction to the format of the day by Izy.
1000 - 1300 We will walk to a location in the grounds where we will assess the composition, the light, the possible painting pitfalls and make preliminary sketches. Weather permitting we will make a start on our paintings in our chosen location.
1300 - 1400 A picnic/BBQ lunch specially prepared for you by our in-house chef. This will be served in the dining room if the weather prevents the picnic.
1400 – 1630 Painting.
1630 - 1700 A quick review of the day and time for packing up your paintings
